Ok so....here is a sad fact of breaking your arm....AND being old!
It doesn't start working again just because the cast is off.
This is what it is supposed to do....(left hand)

No bendy, bendy.....ultra frustrating!!
Physical Therapy is supposed to help but even she is at a loss as to why it is so stiff. HMMMMMM....
